Tank chums for betta sororities

People love to do experiments with their betta fish, like putting them with other species in the same tank. Before doing so, a person should study preventive measures on how to keep a female betta sorority with other tank mates.

Before mixing a betta fish with other species, a small experiment should be performed to determine their behavior in the presence of other fish mates. Some people observe that betta fish cannot bear other fishes in their space.

But to make it possible, people should select their tank partners carefully. These fishes are more likely to adjust with such tank mates who are peaceful. Otherwise, mixing a betta fish with other fish is not a good idea.

Betta fish likes to make territories, and if some other fish come into their environment in the fish tank, there will be chances of a fight. But one can avoid this by arranging a sorority tank having ample space.

Maximum space is also evident to make this idea work.

For keeping peace in sorority tanks, some harmless varieties can be added to the betta tank, for example, Mollies, Tetras, Corydoras Catfish, or Platies.

Mollies

Mollies are considered peace-loving fish, and it can presume that mollies can get along with betta fish in the sorority tank. Mollies are available in various vibrant colors. These can also enhance the beauty of a sorority tank.

Mollies can comfortably live between three and four fish. But before purchasing a molly for the sorority tank, focus on buying some female mollies rather than male mollies. Male mollies are pretty aggressive and can ruin a sorority tank's environment in a matter of time.

Tetras

Another suitable tank partner for a betta fish is Tetras. These can live peacefully in a more extended sorority tank because they are more comfortable in a horizontal space. Tetra fish can easily live in a group of almost five fish.

Tetras are of different kinds. Some example of tetra fish is Neon Tetras, Ember Tetras, etc. Tetras have the specialty of swimming fast. This also creates a cute contrast between betta and tetra fish because betta fish moves gently.

Corydoras Catfish

Again, this is a good option for a betta sorority tank. These fishes help in keeping the betta sorority tank clean. These are more likely to live in the bottom of a sorority tank, so bettas are less likely to offend with them. Like Mollies and Tetras, these fishes are also peace-loving.

Platies

Another essential thing about Platies is that these do not need any specific water environment. These can easily survive in any water condition. Platies can also easily stay with a betta fish because these fishes are nonviolent.

Another plus point for mixing betta fish with platies is that platies do not require a lot of space in the tank. On the other side, betta fish requires even more space when these are put together with other tank mates. So, a betta fish can easily live with platies as platies are peaceful and these are not likely to invade the space of a betta fish.

But if someone establishes a betta sorority with male and female betta fish, it can be problematic, as male bettas are pretty nasty.
